BBEC CONGRATULATES ONE OF THEIR OWN ON HER APPOINTMENT AS PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS UNITY SA
The members of the Black Business Executive Circle (BBEC) are delighted to congratulate their fellow member, Ms Futhi Mtoba, as she takes up the reigns as President of Business Unity South Africa.
Futhi, an active member of BBEC, has and continues to make an invaluable contribution to the broader transformation agenda of this economy. She also served on the Presidential Black Business Working Group, of which BBEC was the lead organization.
The Chairman of BBEC, Mr Hlengani Mathebula, stated in Johannesburg today that "the election of Futhi, as the first black woman to be democratically elected by the broader business community as President of this vital organization, is a significant step in the journey of transformation of our economy in this country".
Futhi Mtoba is no stranger to holding the title of "firsts". She leads from the front and stands tall as a pioneer of change. In addition to holding the honour of being the first African Black woman to be appointed as a partner at Delloitte, she is also the first black woman to be appointed to the Board of this company. Futhi was also the first woman national president of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA). In November 2005 she won the Organisation of Women in International Trade (OWIT) USA International Woman of the Year Award, making her the first woman from the African continent to receive this accolade.
"As a member of BUSA, BBEC is fully supportive of Futhi's vision to transform and unify business in South Africa" said Mr Mathebula.
